Summer break

The under 12 and under 18 track sessions have now finished for the summer. They’re back up and running on the 10th September. Enjoy the break and stay hydrated!


Team Hounslow at the London Marathon

Good luck to Team Hounslow Athletes’ Babatunde Dawodu and Rachael Turner who are taking part in the Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday, and to all Team Hounslow Athletes taking part in the London Mini Marathon, you’ll smash it!

England Championships, Sheffield – Feb 24 2018


Team Hounslow’s Tyra Khambai-Anna ’The Bishop Wand Church of England School girl became the first Team Hounslow athlete to win a national title when winning the under 15 girls 60 m in Sheffield

Showing her dominance from the first round, Tyra went into the final as the favourite and didn’t let herself down, flying out of the blocks and despite a small stumble was able to run clear of the field and claim the gold medal in time of 7.82.

Tyra now aims to add the Middlesex title to her already impressive indoor c.v which also includes South of England champion.

Tyra joined Team Hounslow AC 2 years ago after be spotted by her coach Jonathan Barbour at a schools sports hall athletics event.

After the medal presentation, Tyra said ‘ I was a little nervous coming into this competition as I had a injury which meant I was unable to train properly for 3 weeks after winning the London Games. I would like to thank my coach Jonathan and my mum for helping me win this medal.

Tyra is part of the Speed Development Academy based at Osterley sports and athletics centre, and is a member of Team Hounslow A.C.

Hounslow’s World Athletics Championship Celebrations


Gold for Wilson-Kepple


Team Hounslow’s Josiah Wilson-Kepple became the clubs first every English schools medalist, claiming gold in the junior boy’s triple jump.

Struggling with his run up after the first 2 rounds, the UK number 1 ranked athlete made it through to the final with his last jump placing him in 3rd place.

With his run up now fully adjusted Josiah leapt out to an impressive 13.18m claiming the gold medal breaking his personal best and breaking the club record.

Last year junior boys 200m silver medalist Jak Mensah moved up to the intermediate boys age group, smashed his personal best and club record in 200m with 22.41 in the heats finishing 3rd.

Jak failed to make the final, finishing 5th in his semi final.

Aidan Aherne continued his impressive season, again breaking both his personal best and club record in his junior boys 800m heat, running 2.04.47, but failed to make the final finishing 4th.

Reece Willimason failed to make the long jump final after registering 5.98m, finishing 18th overall.

Well done to all involved.

Sessions cancelled

Due to unforeseen circumstances this week’s under 12 and under 18 sessions have been cancelled, apologies for the late notice.

The under 12 and under 18 sessions are now finished until after the summer holidays. The first session back will be on the Monday 11th September.

Kelisha Johnson Does It Again!!!!

Kelisha Johnson completed the double when winning the 100m (14.1) and long jump (4.13m) at this year London Youth Games ParaGames.

This is the second time she has completed the double after winning her first ParaGames in 2015. Due to bad weather, the 2016 event was called off.

SIX off to the English school Championships

Team Hounslow AC have 6 athletes heading to Birmingham to represent Middlesex at this year’s English School National Championships.
The ESAA National Championships are the 4th largest athletics event in the World.
Entry to the event is by virtue of athletes being selected by County Team Managers to represent their County.
Last year we had our first ever representative in Jak Mensah who came back with a Silver medal in the boys 200m
Jak goes again this year after moving up an age group hoping to go one better and bring back the gold this time around.
UK number 1 Josiah Wilson, will be making the trip hoping to continue his fine first season in the triple jump, and bring back some hardware.
Aidan Aherne, will complete in the highly competitive 800m event. Aidan is rounding into fine form and will be hoping to make the final where he can push for a medal.
Paulo Belchior, goes in the 300m and is another one finding his form in time for the championships.
Cedelle Agyei-Kyem, will be aiming to continue her amazing season which has seen her undefeated in the 300m, stepping down for the 200m for this event. Reece Williamson, one of the clubs longest serving members goes in the Long Jump after his massive personal best at the Borough championships.

Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon

The Virgin Money Giving Mini London Marathon is the official British Athletics 5km road championships for young athletes aged between 11 and 17.
This year’s Virgin Money Giving London Marathon saw 1056 youngsters run the last 5km of the main marathon course. Runners finished in the Mall just ahead of the elite marathon runners.
Team Hounslow were represented by 16 young runners and had some outstanding results.
The top performances of the day were by Jonathan Bartholomew who ran the under 15 race in 17.11 finishing 102nd.
A huge congratulations goes out to all the young runners that took part, who all received a marathon medal, goody bag and finishers t-shirt.

Dorota smashes club record

Among the record 39,487 finishers on Sunday, Team Hounslow’s Dorota Rakowicz completed the 42k course in 3hrs.35.51.

Dorota’s performance has earned her an automatic entry into 2018 London Marathon.

This is an amazing achievement for Dorota and the club.
